ENJOYED THE LANE MUNCHKINS

Last week was certainly lots of fun but busy for Ken and me. Derek, Jill and their munchkins Lake, Carter and Anna were here for their Spring Break. It was so good to have them home. On Monday, we had Sawyer's baseball game on Monday afternoon.. He went five for five he said, "which he did". The munchkins went to Gadsden to visit Derek's brother & family for the day. Tuesday, Cole spent some time with us while his Mom taught dancing. Then it was off to the Mountain Brook/Vestavia ball game. All the Munchkins enjoyed watching Vestavia win. Yippee. Wednesday, Mimi, Pappy, Derek, Jill, Lake, Carter, Anna, Kim and Cole (Dal had to work, Preston and Sawyer and us spent the day having "FUN". We started off fishing at Star Lake. These kids have fun not only fishing for bream but TURTLES. Of course we always put our catch back in. Next, we were off to Wald Park in Vestavia where we had a great picnic of Pizza and Chicken fingers with fries furnished by Derek and Jill. The kids enjoyed the play ground, and also playing ball on the lower field area, and hiking. Debbie Ellis, Kim's Mom stopped by for a little while on her way from Montgomery. Around 4:30, we moved on to watch Krispy Kreme Doughnuts being made. This is Lake, Carter and Anna's favorite place when they come to Alabama. We all had donuts, milk and coffee and visited. Brenda and I took the boys and Anna over to see Green Valley Elementary where Preston and Sawyer's mom went to first grade through 6. The school was closed but we could see in through the windows. The boys and Anna bid us all good by as they were heading back to Ft. Leavenworth tomorrow. The stay was short but we enjoyed our time together. Thursday, Preston and Sawyer had ball games at 5:30 and 7. Ken and I enjoyed watching the game but it was oh so COLD. The ball players were freezing. To cold for little ones to play for sure. Ken was on the phone keeping in touch with Asa keeping a check on the Mt. Brook/Vestavia game. Yippee! Vestavia won the regionals in their area. Friday: GOOD FRIDAY. Saturday, back to ball park Preston 9 am game and Sawyer 3 pm. Another cool day but little warmer than the games during the week.
